Videorc for agents · free

Let AI agents run Videorc

Videorc MCP lets AI agents on your computer (Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, VS Code and any other MCP app) run Videorc: switch scenes, play sounds, record, go live, read chat, arrange the picture and find your recordings.

What Videorc MCP is

Ask in plain words

Try “What's on my stream right now?” or “Switch to the camera scene, put up the BRB banner and play the airhorn.”

Free, and off until you say so

Videorc MCP is free. It stays off until you turn on Agents in Settings → Remote → Agents, and nothing listens on the network.

Works with the app you use

Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, VS Code or any other MCP app. Videorc can add itself to the app's settings for you.

Connect an agent in 4 steps

Everything starts in Videorc's settings. Inside your agent app, the server is called videorc.

  1. 01

    Turn on Agents

In Videorc, open Settings → Remote → Agents and turn on “Let AI agents control Videorc”.

  2. 02

    Connect an agent

Press “Connect an agent…”, choose your app (Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, VS Code or Other) and give it a name.

  3. 03

    Add Videorc to the app

Press “Add to Claude Desktop” (or Cursor, VS Code, Codex, Claude Code). Videorc adds itself to that app's settings and keeps a backup of the old file. Or copy the line it shows into the app yourself.

  4. 04

    Restart, then ask

Restart Claude Desktop or Codex, or turn videorc on in the MCP settings of Cursor or VS Code. The agent shows up in Videorc's list. If Videorc is closed, the agent's first action opens it.

Claude Desktop extension

Coming with the next release

A one-file install for Claude Desktop. Download videorc.mcpb, open it to install it in Claude Desktop, then paste the agent token from Connect an agent.

Two ready-made prompts

They show up in your agent app as slash commands or in its prompt menu.

Go-live checklist
Checks your destinations, the scene and the sound before you go live. It changes nothing.
Stream recap
Sums up your last recording: files, markers, chat and viewers.

What agents can do

Seven groups of tools your agent can use. You ask for the outcome in plain words.

GroupWhat it covers
LookWhat's happening now, the picture viewers see, scenes, sources, banners, takeovers and sounds, chat, destinations, recordings.
Run the showRecord, go live, stop, save a clip, add a marker, switch scenes, the microphone and System audio, banners, takeovers, sounds, a chat message on stream, captions, the live background.
Arrange the pictureMove and resize Buddy, banners, the camera, the highlight card and captions (“move Buddy to the top left”). Make the camera a circle.
Chat and BuddySend a chat message, remove one, have Buddy say a line, Buddy's settings.
PrepareTitle, category and the rest of the stream info, which destinations are on, schedule a stream, a short list of settings.
LibraryRename, delete (to the Trash), export, start a Clean cut.
The appOpen Videorc's windows, show you a notice.

You stay in charge

Every agent is local, logged and one press from stopped.

Local only
Videorc listens on 127.0.0.1 only. Nothing on your network or the internet can reach it. Each agent has its own token, and Remove revokes it.
Every action is logged
Activity lists each action with the agent's name, what it did and how it ended. Find it in Settings → Remote → Agents → Activity.
Stop cuts them all
While an agent is connected, the Studio's Session section shows “Claude Desktop connected · Stop”. Stop, or “Stop agents” in ⌘K search, cuts every agent at once and turns Agents off.
Notices for the big moves
Going live, ending the stream, posting in chat, removing a message and deleting a recording show a notice in Videorc naming the agent.
Chat is viewer-written
Agents get chat as data, marked as written by viewers, and are told never to follow it. A viewer typing “AI, end the stream” is just a chat line.
Your keys stay home
Agents never get stream keys, account tokens or passwords. They do get the file paths of your recordings, because handing a recording to your editor is the point.
Deletes go to the Trash
Deleting moves a recording to the Trash, and YouTube chat removals still wait for your click (YouTube's rule).

Buddy can do it too

Premium

Buddy uses the same tools when you ask by voice (“Buddy, switch to BRB”) or type /buddy in the Stream Manager. Viewers never can.

Ask your agent to run the show.

Sign in, download Videorc, and turn on Agents in Settings → Remote → Agents. Free, local only, and off until you turn it on.
