Release notes
Videorc 0.12.0 Beta 1
Clips now has two lengths, 30 seconds and 1 minute, chosen when you press, plus fixes to Clips, separate recordings, sources and error toasts.
A 1-minute clip beside the 30-second clip
- Save a 30-second or a 1-minute clip, chosen at the moment you press.
- Say "clip the last minute" or "long clip" to save a 1-minute clip by voice.
- Clips comes back by itself after its buffer stops, and that no longer counts as a failed recording.
- Idle soundboard pad presses no longer end up in your clips.
- "Recording stopped unexpectedly" and "Livestream stopped unexpectedly" now have a Copy button.
1-minute clips
Clips used to save one length for every press. Now there are two, and you choose when you press: 30 seconds, which is unchanged and still the default, or 1 minute.
- The Stream Manager status bar shows Clip 30 s and 1 min side by side.
- Settings → Shortcuts has a second shortcut for the 1-minute clip. It is unbound until you set it. Your existing clip shortcut keeps saving 30 seconds.
- Type
/clipor/clip 30for 30 seconds and/clip 60for 1 minute in the Stream Manager composer. ⌘K has both too. - By voice, "clip that" saves 30 seconds, and "clip the last minute" or "long clip" saves 1 minute.
- The Output → Clips length row is gone, since each press now picks its own length. If you had set a different length there, it goes back to 30 seconds.
A 1-minute clip keeps about twice as much on disk while Clips is on, roughly 68 MB at 8 Mbps and 332 MB at 40 Mbps. CPU and GPU use do not change.
Fixes
- Clips comes back after its buffer stops, and that is no longer reported as a failed recording.
- Idle soundboard pad presses no longer end up in your clips.
- With separate recordings, the Screen file survives a stale recovery latch, and Clips stops looping.
- A scene that shows a source you turned off now waits with a plain message instead of an error.
- "Recording stopped unexpectedly" and "Livestream stopped unexpectedly" now have a Copy button, so you can paste the error to support.
