Release notes
Videorc 0.9.95 Beta 1
The Live Co-host learns a richer way to talk to its server, so smarter moderation, highlight suggestions and your own chat rules can switch on without another app update.
Groundwork for a sharper Live Co-host
- Write your own chat rules in plain language, like "no spoilers" or "English only", ready for the co-host to flag against as the new moderation rolls out.
- Flagged messages can show what kind of problem it is, who it targets and a suggested action.
- A "Suggested" badge can mark comments worth putting on stream - you still decide, nothing is shown automatically.
- A calm chat alert in the co-host pane when several people hit the same problem at once.
A co-host that can say more
The Live Co-host is still in Alpha. This update teaches the app the richer messages the co-host service is about to start sending. Everything below arrives from the server side, so it lights up gradually over the coming weeks without another download - and until then your co-host behaves exactly as it does today.
- Chat rules. Settings, Live Co-host has a new "Chat rules" list: up to ten short plain-language rules such as "no spoilers" or "English only". You can write them now. The co-host starts flagging against them once the new moderation is switched on for your account.
- Richer flags. A flagged message can say what kind of problem it is, who it is aimed at and what you might do about it, instead of a bare warning.
- Flag sensitivity. Choose how sure the co-host should be before it shows you a flag. This filters on your Mac, so changing it is instant.
- Suggested highlights. Comments the co-host thinks are worth showing get a "Suggested" badge. Tapping it uses the same highlight you already have - nothing ever goes on stream by itself.
- Chat alerts. When several different people trip the same problem within a minute, the co-host pane shows a quiet chip. It never interrupts you with a pop-up.
Good to know
- If the service does not speak the new format yet, the app quietly falls back to the current one. No pause, no error.
- The co-host still never sends anything to chat without you.
